Description

Join the Western New York Genealogical Society as it takes its October meeting on the road for a special "members only" talk and tour of the Inactive Records & Research Facility in Buffalo, New York. Linda Andersen will discuss the broader role of the Inactive Record Center, the types of City of Buffalo related resources available to researchers, and recommended best practices. Attendees will also participate in a brief tour the facility.

Based on building capacity and security protocols, two sessions (same program, two different times) will be offered:

Session I: 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m.
Session II: 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

It is important to note that these specially scheduled "behind the scenes" tours are intended as an opportunity for researchers to better familiarize themselves with the facility, the records, and the established policies and procedures. Individuals are encouraged to return during regular facility hours to conduct their research.

Cost:

These sessions are free for Society members.

Seating is limited. Advance registration is required. For those without Internet access, please contact Jennifer Liber Raines at 716-550-2439. All registrations must be received no later than October 19, 2016.

Are there any special requirements to enter the event?

As a secured facility, attendees will be asked to sign in upon entering the facility.

What can't I bring to the event?

No food or beverages are allowed in the facility. Smoking is prohibited.
